From the photos it looks like a complete monitor stand with two arms and a laptop holder adapter but it isn't. It's just a laptop stand that plugs into 2 VESA holes in the monitor mount. When I ordered this the response was that it is the entire monitor stand, not just the laptop mount. This has now been changed to indicate that it is a keeper only.

This laptop mount exceeded my expectations. He is well built and strong. I attached it to my chair's side table with the sturdy clip that came with it. The laptop armrest pivots over the armrest of my chair, and my 17" laptop sits on a metal base with a lower lip to keep the laptop from sliding off. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a durable, well built product.

Beautifully finished and very easy to assemble, this item is a laptop part that attaches to any desk mounted armrest. To be honest I didn't notice or read correctly that the arm is sold as a different item but as a safe, secure laptop mount this is the best you will ever need!

The tray itself is excellent. Holds my 17" MacBook Pro with no problems. My only issue was that the product photos were misleading. The tray seemed to come with a support arm, which it doesn't. The photos were only meant to show the tray and not all other items on it Photos.

I have bought some very similar models from Monoprice. The Monoprice product is cheaper if you get free shipping or buy in bulk, but I was less than impressed with how the screws fit into the screw holes on their laptop base. I only needed one this time so I went with this one which was comparable to Monoprice shipping and shipped faster with Prime. Easy installation, screws go in neatly. Everything feels high quality. No complaints!

If you don't want to use your laptop's keyboard, the desk mount is not an efficient use of your desk. Mounting my laptop with a monitor mount just gives you more usable desk space. This allows for multiple configurations, one of which can open the laptop screen and keyboard 150 degrees. This is good for preventing dust from settling on the keyboard. Unless you have an extremely rigid Vesa monitor arm, I don't recommend using it for typing on a keyboard. It's just not stable enough to use…
