Unplug and reassemble

My son is very interested in crafts and technology. Over the years we have created many kits and models. He always liked watching videos of marble cars on YouTube and he had marble toys so he thought it was interesting. In addition to glue, the kit contains everything you need. Some of the steps are a little hard to decipher, but most were fine and we were successful. At only 6 years old, my son had to help out (punching out parts etc.) rather than actively building, but that was ok. In the end

Great instructions for marble runs

I made this project with my toddler and we loved it. The instructions were very simple and clear and I particularly liked how the parts index and instructions were combined into one cute little booklet. This made it very easy to take a few days off during assembly and once again no longer have any missing loose papers. I would recommend model building glue as Elmer wasn't strong enough for the whole project. When we finished and turned the drive wheel, it came loose and had to be re-glued. Iโ€ฆ

Disappointing: Training and education

I had no idea what to expect from this STEM toy and was definitely surprised when I opened it up and found all the details engraved in wood. After a brief but terrifying exercise in pulling everything out, I was pleased to find that nothing was broken and the prices seemed to be at a very high level of accuracy. When my kids and I started putting it together we were a little upset to find that it needed glue that wasn't in the box. It didn't really matter, but it was annoying. A little work and

STEM summer toy without screen

Must play with a 4.5 year old who is very good at puzzles. He has never built 3D puzzles or STEM kits and honestly I just needed something to get him away from the black hole that is TVs and iPads. He's obviously too young for this toy (it says 9+ on the box) but I decided I'd basically assemble it myself then he could make balls. Well, I was wrong - this is a really great activity to do with a child, but 4 is probably the youngest possible and even then, be prepared to basically do itโ€ฆ
