Great design for aquariums and fish tanks

Allows pregnant fish to remain isolated during labour, and allows newborn fish to slip through slots in the bottom of the aquarium to stay safe. Great design for swimming in the main aquarium, so no need to clean separate water and less stress for the fish. The mother fish can be removed after birth and the shelf removed to give the fry more room to grow.

Not good for fish. the best in Fish & Aquatic Pets

Do not buy. It's too small for a healthy fish, swims very deep in the water, and doesn't have a tip to stop the mother fish from jumping out, which I did twice. I've found that fish get scared when they're pulled out of a large aquarium and locked into something so small. There are no side hangers so you have no control over placement, and the airboxes are so small that they can easily tip over and sink.

  • This is amazing
Cons
  • There are nuances

only wanted to use for 1 fish

originally bought for injured fish. But it only worked for one fish. then wanted to use it for a single fish hatchery but the lower part which creates a safe haven for the juveniles will not stay in place unless the divider is in place and with the divider too small for that I wouldn't feel bad about completing the fish even for the night.

Good size for Mollys!

I use it as an isolation box because unfortunately the fish injury happened before I had to use it for live birth. With the center baffle removed, it's just the right size for the molly (that's what I have) to swim without putting too much stress on the fish. When trying to find one of these it wasn't easy to find an inexpensive box that was the right size for the Molly, but this one works well! The slats seem good for letting water through and it stays afloat with no suction cups. A good…

Ok but there are some improvements

I was a serious hobbyist, I had 9 aquariums and a pond about 10 years ago. Now only 4 tanks are left. I've had one of these before and love it and use it all the time to fight fish, sick, injured, new fish just waiting to settle in. It works as a hatchery for guppies, small platies or sunfish but seems too small/shallow for mollies or larger livebearers. If your spice man is large, the fry may also be too large and unable to pass through the gap down. I hope it comes with a case like the…

Hatchery Marina 2-in-1

Job done. There is a newer version of this product from Top Fin that includes suction cups that you can use to attach the hatchery to the side of your aquarium. From the point of view of isolating juvenile fish from predatory adults. This product is so-so. If you have suckling predatory fish in your tank, the juveniles will be eaten immediately through the side vents (narrow enough that they don't swim out of the hatchery, but not narrow enough that they don't). being eaten by foreign fish)…

My 90+ fish thanks

It worked exactly as advertised. Mom gave birth and the babies could hide where she couldn't reach them. I think the only problem for me was that I wanted to put the youngsters in a hanging net to mature as I have other pregnant fish. The slots on the sides of the hatchery (for the water intake) were also places for water to drain if I tried to lift the hatchery to move the hatchlings. I had to cover the side with my hand to keep the water from spilling out and then take the little ones to…
