It was amazing. I hesitated a bit as I thought it looked a bit silly but I put it on a 60hp outboard and my boat now literally jumps out of the water boarding the plane so quickly.

I have a 16ft StarCraft with a 60hp outboard that didn't fly as well as the pinball. This hydrotail solved that problem and allows my boat to get on plane quickly and reach full speed and top speed.

Slalom time halved. The boat takes off twice as fast. Installation on my 2016 Bayliner 3.0 was a bit tricky as the front holes were difficult to drill. The ribs on top and bottom forced me to drill the holes at an angle and then file the holes to a larger size. The improvement was worth the extra work.

Fit this to my old pontoon that does not have electric trim to improve boat planing. This really helps my 18ft pontoon stay on the plane better depending on how many people are on the boat. It seems to have had a slight impact on my gas mileage and maybe my speed, but only about 1-2 mph, but that doesn't bother me. This helps to plan the boat better, but does not solve all problems. If there are more than 1 or 2 bigger guys on the boat with me, it doesn't matter.

I had one on my old boat and it worked fantastic! When I installed this on the 150 Merc Black Max I had on my Ranger 340V it went from about 80 yards of glide to about 40 yards of glide. Really increased my hole shot. I'm installing this on my son's 150 Johnson Fast Strike on a Javelin 389 SDC he just bought. It was only 55 hours on the boat. There is a lot of misinformation in the FAQ. The attached photos show what you will get. It is called "Stingray Classic" and is designed for 40 hp engines. and higher. It is attached with four stainless steel screws that are included in the kit. You will need to drill four holes in the outboard or sterndrive. I have attached a photo of my sterndrive with four holes drilled. The color is almost black, especially in the packaging. Upon removal, the color was actually a very dark gray. This works…
