I bought this product after reading reviews of natural products that can reduce the smell of cat litter. After checking their ingredients, I found that they were overcharging for zeolite. I read several reviews and found the type of zeolite in this product to be safe for cats. I use this charcoal and zeolite mixture that I sprinkle on a cat's tray and it really helps control odors! We are so impressed and the price difference between this jar and cat fashion products is huge!

Whenever the ammonia level in the tank goes up I change the carbon/zeolite and bam it goes back to 0. These things really work. I put about 5 tablespoons at the bottom of a canister filter mixed with ceramic filter media and lava rock and it all works great together. Replacing carbon and ammonia can get incredibly expensive nearly every month. And it needs to be replaced or it could release the toxins it captured back into the aquarium, which is one of the reasons why its use is so much debated. I have not used this product in aquarium conditions like most reviewers. However, I saw a recommendation for using this product with cat litter and decided to give it a try. My kitty litter didn't mask the smell very well, but sprinkling it along with the litter really helped! I use this stuff with AquaClear 20 bags You don't want to put too much in, just enough for the bag to be filled fits snugly where it normally would a MiniBow filter would be. If you fill in too much water, the water may overflow - simply fill the bag so that it is slightly larger than the size of a regular MiniBow filter, tie/seal the bag and rinse/soak until the water runs out it's clear. Here are my experiences with this product. Today is my 5th day of using this product and wow!
