Enhanced Bio Wheel Assembly System 6 Filter Parts for Aquarium by Marineland PR3120 Review

This was a great find as the system the part came with has been discontinued. I have had the tank for almost 15 years and it is very difficult to find replacement parts.

I was so excited to find parts for this aquarium as it has been sitting in the garage for years. The tab on the filter pad blocked the rotation of the wheel. (see picture), but if you fold it back or cut off the edge, the wheel spins normally.

Used in the Regent 5 system, which is exactly the same as the Eclipse 6 system (different brand above). I'm just glad I was able to find one of these after taking the device out of storage after about 6 years. I bought mine from Marineland and they sent me the correct size.

Do you know that it is better not to change the Bio Wheel if it is not damaged? A little known fact I didn't find out until I bought this item and there was a little piece of paper inside telling me about it. Ha! I thought it would be nice to change the wheel as well as the filter. However, the bio wheel is best left alone if not damaged. Good to know, even in hindsight.

I've seen some reviews of other Bio Wheels wheels that people said didn't spin and that was a bit concerning. Happy to say it works just as well as the original in my tank. I have a 6 gallon Eclipse system and it sat on a shelf for the last 14 years until my eldest got her little siblings a fish for Christmas.
