Great company: Distributors & Parts

It turned out I had a different engine than the original so this product was not an exact fit. But the product was exactly as described so it was a mistake. The distributor and rotor came very quickly, were new and the return was so easy even I could do it. Rschunimagu.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled

Bought in May, cylinder position sensor failed in September

Bought in May and the price is excellent and unlike the two bought from Rock Auto the car started right away. It was working great and two days ago the CEL came on pointing at the cylinder position sensor. When I tested it with a meter it showed open ended instead of 350-700 ohms. And it turns out that there is no guarantee for this product.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Not trendy

Get what you pay for.

I installed this distributor because the bearings on my old one failed. The car immediately issued the engine check code for the cylinder position sensor, which is located in the distributor. Now I feel like I'm stuck in an endless loop of orders from merchants and crossing my fingers that they work. Of course, they are not tested before sale. Cost doesn't matter if the product doesn't work at first.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I don't remember

Works great on a 1994 Civic EX coupe

Bought the car from a poor aftermarket dealer. Exchanged it on eBay ($50 or so) and it worked great for about 3 years. Over time, the cylinder position sensor began to fail, resulting in misfires or limp home. I bought this unit with some hesitation but I think 3 years usage for $60 is better than paying $300 OEM and it lasts 10 years. Reviews here are based on ignorance or incorrect installation. With these vehicles, you have to reset the time after each dealer change. If you don't, you're…

Pros
  • Handy
Cons
  • So far so good

Die cast aluminum distributor body has a threaded boss under the crutch which secures the wiring harness and connectors. This boss was not in the same location at my original OEM dealership. As a result, the engine wiring harness is too short to reach the distributor plugs. I had to remove and discard the bracket to get the connectors on the engine harness to the connectors on the distributor harness. I would have preferred the manifold body to have a threaded bushing in the correct location…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly dented
