Master Magnetics 07581 Magnetic Stainless Review

This is the third magnetic opener we have purchased. It has a very strong magnet and holds 130 capsules. Unfortunately, the opening part does not grip the cap, so several attempts are required before opening.

Looks nice, big, strong, but to open the bottle you have to "open" it as usual, then turn it 180 degrees and "open" it again, and then it can burst from above. I bought this to replace one I got years ago since I put it in my garage beer fridge. This one looks much better but doesn't work as advertised. I suggest looking elsewhere.

This bottle opener does not open bottles well. You should try 2 or 3 times before it gets stuck and the lid comes off. When it finally does, it'll be pretty cool. The lid adheres to the large surface of the base. You can just slide the lid anywhere on the surface and keep collecting lids until it's full. So if you are patient enough to try and open the bottle 2 or 3 times you will love it. If not, don't buy.

This bottle opener has a strong magnet that allows it to easily stay attached to the fridge without moving; This is an issue with some other openers. The downside, however, is that the magnet is very large and somewhat noticeable when viewed from the side. All in all, the opener does what it's supposed to and catches the lids as advertised. The stainless steel finish also looks great.

2nd update: Customer service sent a new unit which has been working fine so far. Thanks very much! Update: after some use the opener seems to have become dull. The caps no longer come off as easily as they did in the beginning. Not so happy now. Deduct a few points for poor durability. Original review: Great product! Completely magnetic, unlike others that only catch caps in a small portion. Highly recommended!

Okay, this crap has been sitting in my fridge for two years now. The magnet works but the bottle won't open. I spend about 30 seconds. standing by the fridge trying to find the "right angle" to open that stupid bottle. Oh brother, how hard it is to make something that really does what it's supposed to do! Save money, go. Pooh! To update! I REALLY HATE THIS THING! What rubbish and complete plagiarism! I have to throw it in the trash and never use it again. I already said it's crap!

The magnets are really strong so they stay on the fridge and catch the lids well. I've had no problems with it loosening or moving when opening bottles and it catches plenty of bottle caps before you have to clean them. In short, despite the following problems, this is a great idea and a good product. However, if I didn't really like the idea and they didn't at least deliver the function they promised, I might give this opener three or even two stars.
