Consistently 5F below actual temp

I've had this for several years and it's consistently 5F below actual temp. I know this is inaccurate because I've used some other temperature measurement tools like FLIR, the Rx medical surface temperature controller, and several off-the-shelf thermostats. That's fine if you know where the temperature offset is, but since you can't calibrate it, it means you have to add or subtract an error every time. it is used.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • No instructions

This thermometer is not accurate at all

I bought this to use in my pediatric office. Received this item quickly but had problems right out of the box, it took 3 adults to figure out how to open where the batteries are. I then used it many times that day and it never gave a remotely accurate reading. Temperature readings fluctuated between 60 and 89 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the day. At these temperatures I would be clinically dead lol. I have other thermometers and they read my temperature at 98.4 which is fine with me.

Good gun with good case.

Ideal for the heavy equipment mechanic. The cover is nice and comes with a thermometer in the shape of an air conditioner vent handle. I had a makeshift SouthWire pistol, but I can't find it. Southwire is an expensive brand of power tools that can be found at Lowes. Your temporary pistol was really good. I've had it for 6 years. In comparison, I like the cool master better. Doesn't feel cheap in the hand and having a bullseye design laser versus a small display dot is actually a nice feature…

So glad we bought this!

Arrived on time, nice light weight item, comes with batteries and separate temperature sensor. One thing: As other reviewers have pointed out, the battery cover is very difficult to remove. The first time, my husband and I had to take it off with the channel lock to catch it. After it was removed we inserted small clips that snap the cover into the case. The clips are located just behind where you can squeeze the battery cover, making it impossible to squeeze the clips far enough to get them…

  • Everything is fine!

4 years later and we still love it!

We originally bought this to measure the incubation temperature of our chicks precisely. and since then there have been many uses for it! I used it to check the temperature of our grill (the grill thermometer is really inaccurate!). We use it to test the warmest spot in the house so that we can ferment our beer or kombucha there. I also use it to check the temperature of milk when making yoghurt or pudding to make sure it's reaching pasteurization temperature. We love it. Our toddler dropped it

Pros
  • also understandable for old people

Very good! - Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

Bought this baking thermometer to take the temperature of my brick/steel. This proved to be more than sufficient for the task at hand. Temperatures are pretty accurate across the range, the laser is spot on and the shape of the grip is nice. I especially like the fact that it runs on AAA batteries instead of the 9 volts you find in some other thermometers. The case it comes in ensures the thermometer is reasonably well protected during transport and the additional meat thermometer is a nice…

An extremely useful tool!

After reading reviews of this infrared thermometer and comparing it to others offered on this site, I purchased Mastercool. I am very happy with it. Not only was Revain three days past the estimated arrival date, the package arrived in perfect condition. The carry case is built for heavy use and also includes a very useful thermometer (a bonus I wasn't aware of). The device itself is very easy to use and with an external push of a button you can toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius. The…
