This PDT is very helpful. Great for use

To help my wife with pasta. This PDT is very helpful. Great to use. Easy to clean. After several years of use, this pdt still maintains its integrity without breaking into pieces. Must be due to the excellent material.

  • Great for me
Cons

Terrible experience

The carpet is useless. Three packs of noodles have evaporated. Despite baking according to directions and allowing them to cool completely, all but 5-10 noodles from the batch stuck to the mat. The carpet will attract lint from the air or the towel. I thought others exaggerated with shipping creases and thought they would flatten out once it was in the oven, but that's not the case. In fact, they were worse when baked.

Homemade pasta on a Mastrad pan

I have a larger Mastrad pan which I bought a few years ago while visiting family in Bordeaux. However, it's too big and I prefer small noodles, so I bake pallets with it. This one is great and Mastrad is a good brand in terms of quality. Now all I have to do is open Pierre Hermy's book and make homemade fruit puree, or why not tiramisu with freshly baked pasta, delicious!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Expensive

Pasta takes patience and practice.

I was watching the American Baking Contest and in one of the episodes they had to bake macaroons. The contestants struggled to make macarons that were the same size and shape. While I'm far from a pasta expert, I've found this pan to be very helpful when trying to make smooth pasta. As with anything else in the kitchen, practice makes perfect and I will continue my quest for macarons!

  • Everything is fine!

Easy to use, perfect!

I've been trying to improve my homemade macaroons, but when I've used regular baking sheets lined with parchment paper, my macaroons have flattened out every time. With these silicone mats, my macaroons come out perfectly cooked and round every time. It's easy to use as the circles are a grid that indicate how much topping to release and prevent the cookies from bumping into each other. Great for home bakers like me =) Since this mat doesn't fit on a regular baking sheet, I just avoided using…

The carpet works but know how to use it!

My first attempt to use this for french macaroons was a failure. The macaroons all looked perfect as you would see in a French bakery, but when I tried to take them off they stuck to the mat. My second try was much better - all but a few were perfect. Here are some troubleshooting tips: 1. Don't forget to lightly grease the mat. I used butter to lightly brush each circle before spreading the macaroon batter. Leave the cooked macaroons on the mat for at least 10 minutes after baking…

Doesn't work and return policy is terrible

Bought these as a Christmas present for someone. They didn't like them (and with good reason - they don't work!). I signed up today to return them and a message came up saying it was too late to return them. Why? It looks like this company makes money from poor product placement with a short return window. So now I'm stuck on something I'm more likely to throw in the trash. After you've bought them, you can plan to buy something big enough to put in the oven. Circular patterns won't hold pasta…

  • There's something to it
