Great old school popcorn.

I have an all-electric kitchen, so it's difficult to make popcorn on the stovetop, and using electric appliances is cheaper than using an electric stove. Anyway, I love old-fashioned popcorn and I have a great recipe for butter and butter mixes. This machine warns against putting oil in the kettle, but I had to try it myself. It came out great! Actually better than on the stove. 1 batch was enough for me but it's also very quick, I use soybean oil which is a bit heavier than most (except corn…

Pros
  • Convenient removable popcorn tray

Skip it, security issue.

This was a dangerous product. I gave it in once and it smelled a bit like burnt plastic. I turned it off quickly. Then read up on it a bit to see if it's just because it's new. Meets my needs, cleaning isn't too bad!

I'm a lonely guy who turned out to be a popcorn fanatic! All this talk about how unhealthy microwave popcorn was starting to scare me, and cinema/machine style popcorn was ALWAYS the tastiest to me, so I experimented and shopped and found this MaxiMatic popper! I know it's not perfect but for the price I'm happy! It would be wise to purchase Great Northern 2.5 ounce bags of popcorn to use with this model of machine. I find there will be more corn if you heat the oil and let it sizzle a bit…

Pros
  • Warming light to keep popcorn hot
Cons
  • ill thought out
