Fragile head break

Relatively cheap stuff when I tried to remove the 16mm headed screw it literally broke without warning. I just received this extractor yesterday!

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Upgrade available

Loved the product - sockets and socket sets

The dealer overtightened the oil drain plug on my 2017 Subaru Outback. This car had two free oil changes. I wish I could do it myself now. I used a proper 14mm allen key and it didn't move. As a result, the bolt was rounded. This set was a life saver. With this I was able to loosen the screw. love the product.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Negative impression

Garbage. Will not grip stripped nuts and bolts

I used this to loosen old rusted bolts on my Chevy Impala 63 and Suburban 03. Not once did he manage to grab something stripped. Yes, it will grab anything a regular outlet can, but out of 10 tries I can't even get it to bite anything. I wish I could get a refund for this rubbish

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Not That Durable!: Power & Hand Tools

I was pleased to read the reviews on how well this item worked. Shipping was fast and I was finally able to test it and the 16mm head broke on my first try. I did not expect this. So I read on that this happened to another person and I understand they might want to check if this is some kind of pattern. Read as many bad reviews as good ones and see which situations are close to what you are looking for, because it could happen to you.

Pros
  • Durable Finish
Cons
  • Disappears

A MUST HAVE in your tool box!

Wow! You NEED this tool in your life! I removed the oil drain plug on my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. the thing was fully rounded and nothing worked! I've tried a few different screw extractor kits from local parts stores and even a bench vise - nothing! Bought this set as a last resort. I tapped one of these sockets with a hammer, then hit it with my cordless impact wrench, and VOILA - it worked like clockwork! This tool saved me the trip to the dealer!

Went like clockwork!

Great set of bolt extractors! Like others here, the so-called specialist mechanics twisted my drain plug during the last change, then did not remove it and rounded off the screw head (see picture). Tried everything but didn't budge. It was a 15mm bolt, I tried a 16mm bolt but it eventually pivoted, came out a size too small, fitted well, and then with a broken rod the bolt came loose easily. A quick spin the other way and he was released! I'm glad this set is definitely in my tool collection!

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • Communication with the seller

Good quality sockets and socket sets

These pullers are extremely effective at removing rusted nuts, rounded nuts and even stripped bolts. I was unscrewing 8 exhaust manifold nuts on my 4.6 liter Ford Triton engine that were so corroded that they couldn't be removed with a regular socket or wrench, in a confined space. Use lots of heat first, then a penetrating solvent. They worked for me as advertised. Update: Had to do another side of my Ford Triton, use the same kit and they still worked great. Again, the worst nuts wereโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Faulty

Comparable products are compared to this scrap.

I don't leave many reviews but when I do the product either sucks or is just great. This product was amazing! I took my car to the local garage because I couldn't remove the screw holding the skid plate on and they couldn't. After a little research I came across this product. It works exactly as advertised. I plugged an outlet into my Dewalt Impact driver and it failed after 5 seconds. The latch was completely rounded, with no edges for the socket to snag on, and he could grab what was thereโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions

Head 5 / 8-16mm unsuccessful

I ordered the whole set just judging by the number of stars. Thought it should work. The courier gave the package, I opened it up, checked the 5/8 16mm socket on my bolt and it turned out to be what I needed. I started using it and it broke in half in just about 2 minutes from the time I received the package to the time the outlet split in half. All sockets in the set are heavy wall EXCEPT the 5/8-16mm socket. If you look at the picture in the ad, you will see that it has a thinner wallโ€ฆ

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

You did a GREAT job! (Where even Vice Grips failed)

Background: I have a 2017 Subaru Forester that has previously had an oil change at Subaru (car came serviced for 2 years). Now that those 2 years are up I'm changing the oil myself. Shouldn't be a problem - I've been changing my own oil for over 20 years. I'm not an experienced mechanic but I'm more than capable of doing an oil change. Well, the guys at Subaru twisted the ever-living oil drain plug crap and left it as a special gift, albeit partially rounded for me. , which I started roundingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
