Excellent! It only took our 7 year old silver lab a few times to figure this out and start pacing with confidence. We hope to keep his hips which we have already had to replace. I chose gray to give him some contrast and help him see the steps, otherwise I would have preferred black. This is a good fit for a 5th grn 4runner. No 5th step required.

Although I had to return the item because my 13 year old Border Collie was afraid of the steps, I have to commend the beautiful appearance of the steps and the good workmanship. Very durable and easy to fold and unfold. I am investing in a folding ramp as my boy has not been able to get used to the steps, this is not a product issue, I hope the ramp will suit him. The steps are strong and fold and unfold easily. My dog was nervous at first but I used the treats the first few times and now she's using them like an old pro. This isn't a problem for me, but I would like to point out that the rear of my Honda CRV isn't high enough to fully extend the steps, allowing the feet of the last step to rest on the ground as they were designed. So this can also apply to other cars of a similar size. This does not affect the stability of the steps.
