Good for hiking but not for everyday use.

This is a really well made bag, like everything Maxpedition makes. However, the triangular design makes it difficult to use as an everyday bag. You have to open the beaver tail to access the main compartment. Also, the way the zips connect under the flap at the top is actually a little hard to get to. However, this should help keep the rain off. It's not a big deal if you don't plan on opening the packaging on a regular basis, but it's not ideal for everyday use. designed for work. You mount…

Pros
  • Large 1600 cu. in. backpack with one shoulder design for easy on and off
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Great bag for everyday carry or bug repellent

I've had this bag since 2012 and use it every day. It's incredibly durable and the construction keeps it dry. I originally bought this because I needed something more durable. I went through 3 backpacks that were slowly falling apart until I came across this one. This one has stood the test of time and traveled the world with me. If you are looking for a backpack with a single shoulder strap, this is the one you should buy. It offers a surprising amount of space and I can even fit my SBR rifle…

Pros
  • Hydration compatible design fits 100oz CamelBaks; Side water bottle pocket
Cons
  • Minor issues

Everyone's dream bag

One of the best bags I've ever owned. If it were 8 months old it almost never leaves my back. It is designed for tall people, although the main strap is large. I'm 6ft 2" with a long torso and the strap was almost too big. although the perfect size. It is very secure and the strap sits in the right place on the shoulder and is perfectly balanced. I'm a park ranger and this bag can take a lot. I've been rock climbing, hiking, camping, canoeing, kayaking and other things. I can comfortably pack…

Pros
  • Camping
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

My second Maxpedition package - very happy customer

History of three Maxpeditions: * Noatak (iL) - will carry an 11 inch Mac Book Air (discontinued) but hardly and only with the thinnest cases. It is within a few years from Boston by bike (Brompton) and the subway an hour. Includes side water bottle pocket. It could actually be a great package for a tablet! Now that I have the Monsoon it's the perfect bike backpack for a few miles, fits my Kryptonite U-lock and everything else I need. This pack would easily double the size of my Noatak in terms…

Good Insect Repellent Bag, Best in Camping & Hiking

I was looking for the perfect insect repellent bag. Sturdy, comfortable, rain/snow proof, not gigantic or bulky but not so small that I can't pack what I want. The ease of use is amazing! When you throw it forward, everything is there to grab. It's made for right-handers, but as a left-hander I think it's probably better since it kind of shrinks on the left. The concealed carry capability is great and I'm planning on getting a general purpose holster that will fit in, as well as a 3 mag holder.

Pros
  • Camping & Hiking
Cons
  • No Machine

Great bag but wrong shoulder.

I've been considering buying this bag for about a year. The cost is a bit high. I was looking for a bag for my GoPros and accessories that I can quickly grab and take with me. This bag fits really well. It's well made and just as durable as my other Maxpedition gear (two bags and a couple of bags). It's good for grabbing a quick grab and walking out the door. We vacationed in San Francisco and Hawaii and this bag was perfect for that trip. The only downside is that no one else wears a "reverse"

Pros
  • Sports and Recreation
Cons
  • Electrical outlet required
