Disappointing performance, too pricey

Based on our own experience with this dimmable recessed retrofit, we were underwhelmed by its performance. Despite being marketed towards industrial and scientific applications, the light output was lackluster and inconsistent. Additionally, the high price point didn't justify the mediocre quality of the product.

Defective bracket broken

The bracket holding the retaining spring broke during assembly. Luckily I had a different light, otherwise we would have had to take a dark bath. I've installed several of these lights with no problems, as well as a few from another manufacturer, so I know this one is defective. The photo shows that the right side of the bracket should have a hook, like the left side. If the manufacturer sends me a free replacement without paying postage I will update this review with a higher score.

Bought four of these lights, installed junction boxes a few inches from where they might be and wired them up. (Always plug in a test light at this point!) The small plug just sticks out over the box, making it easy to find a cut-out around the standard ceiling box. (Make sure you mark the location on a map or marker first.) Once the drywall is in place, locate the location, mark a 6-inch square, and…
