Disappointing Performance on Trail Rides

As a hesitant buyer, i purchased these tires hoping for better performance on my off-road cycling adventures... However as a result of my tests, I determined that these tires fell short. The only pro I can think of is the impressive grip on pavement, but unfortunately, they struggled to handle loose dirt and rocky terrain. For a sports and outdoors enthusiast like myself, these tires just didnt meet my expectations..

Pros
  • Excellent traction and control on both wet and dry terrain, thanks to the high-volume casing and the aggressive tread design. The EXO protection adds durability and puncture resistance, while still keeping the weight low.
Cons
  • The tire is not as fast-rolling as some other XC-oriented tires, due to the larger volume and more aggressive tread pattern. This can make it less suitable for hardpack and smooth surfaces where speed is a priority.

Superior Tires for Cyclists

The Maxxis Ikon Plus EXO tire is the perfect choice for cyclists who want maximum performance on the trail. Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice, i can confidently say that these tires are great for sports and outdoors enthusiasts. The EXO protection is premium and the tread pattern ensures superb control and grip. The only downside is the price, but it’s worth investing in quality tires. These tires excel in durability, quality and performance. I highly recommend the Maxxis Ikon Plus EXO…

Pros
  • Durable and puncture-resistant, ideal for rocky terrains
Cons
  • Not suitable for extremely muddy conditions due to minimal tread pattern

Maxxis Icon Plus is a great tire

Arizona. here in abundance. Tubeless is lighter, so we run TRs at 12-20psi without tire sealant. To date, over 600 miles have been ridden on these trails and not a single leak or hole. Excellent grip and wear. They are ideal for carbon or aluminum rims.

Pros
  • 27.5+ Large volume all round race tire
Cons
  • Big and chunky
