Great Mountain Bike Tires

Maxxis continues to make quality mountain bike tires. I replaced my Maxxis 3.0 with them and lived that journey. As a bonus, each tire came in a premium mesh sport package ๐Ÿ‘

Pros
  • Perfect for Outdoor Activities
Cons
  • Doubtful

Awesome mountain bike tires, the best in cycling

These tires are expensive, but you're paying for quality. They grip in all conditions, whether you're riding on a hard pack, muddy, or riding through the gates of hell, they won't let you down. The protectors are huge compared to the V-shaped crowns I've run on. Great MTB tire.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not bad

Highly recommended.

Size Purchased 27.5 x 2.8. Running front/back on Co-op Drt 2.1. Big upgrade to stock tires. Not as grippy as some aggressive treads, but rolls great and corners great. They definitely boosted my confidence on the descents, which increased my speed. I run them tubeless and have absolutely no issues. I usually ride in very rocky rough terrain and the wear resistance of the tires is great too.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Finish
Cons
  • Price Piggy Bank

Misleading manufacturer information

Just received and fitted these tires. Note. The description specifically states "Wide Trail Shroud optimized for 30-35mm rims" but that is NOT true. The instructions that came with these tires read "minimum inner rim width 39mm". I have 35mm discs but I installed them anyway. I've read about rim widths and tire sizes elsewhere and think it's more about grip when pushing the tire limits, but be warned if that bothers you.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Reliability

Hook Hook Durable

I use these to replace some of the mediocre Surly Dirt Wizard tires that came on the Karate Monkey general purpose hardtail. I wasn't impressed with the durability of these tires as they wear out quickly in the middle and buckle in dry/loose sandy corners when we have to lean horses into pegs. Installed a Maxxis Minion on a tubeless rear wheel (is there another way?), didn't even need soapy water to bead and they were easy to install at 8pm and ride at 10am the next day. I have no complaintsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Almost never
