Description of MAXXIS Minion Tubeless Bicycle MaxxTerra

MINION DHF: With a tread design that deftly balances rolling speed with braking and cornering traction, it's hard to find fault with the Minion DHF. That's probably why it's one of the most imitated tires in mountain biking. 3C MAXXTERRA: An intermediate compound configuration used in select mountain tires. 3C MaxxTerra is softer and offers more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, yet provides better treadwear and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip. EXO: An extremely cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of select mountain tires. This densely woven fabric is also lightweight and highly flexible, ensuring that the performance of the tire remains unaffected. Choose EXO Protection for exceptionally rocky, treacherous trails where the chance of sidewall cuts and abrasions is high. TUBELESS READY: Sealant-compatible rubber is used with a Tubeless Ready bead to securley lock to the rim with, or without, an innertube.

XC hardtail downhill tires, who cares?

These 29er Plus tires look great on the bike and provide traction. Ride them on any terrain and they will eat it. 29x3.0" tubeless setup on my XC hardtail. They barely fit, but it works on my setup. Being a regular bike guy and not a pro, I like these tires for their looks and traction, speed or big jumps I don't care Trails are mostly for fitness and enjoyment These tires have been great so far no issues.

Pros
  • Easy to read dashboard
Cons
  • Parts availability

Tire likes to be irradiated

Tire likes to be irradiated. I used this to replace the Maxxis Tomahawk. rear use. He's popular for a reason. Riding in a variety of conditions in Southern California, sandy, loose, rocky, hard surface, sidewalk, bike park, loose on hard surface, rock garden, gravel. It takes whatever you throw at it. I've ridden it maybe 100 miles and I think it's the perfect balance of traction and speed for me. It's not an XC race tire, but the only time I lose traction is when climbing loose gravel at…

  • Dope 🔥

I expected more (replaces the Specialized Butcher)

Everyone loved this tire. The similar butcher I had up front didn't hold air but still had plenty of wear. Not wanting to bother with straightening during a long day trip, I replaced it with a Maxxis DHF. While it's still under 100 miles, I skip rocks and shift the front end more than my previous setup. I weigh 195 pounds on the FSR with the correct suspension settings. I will continue to play with air pressure because I WANT it to work. So far I'm not happy. On the plus side, I'm NO longer…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No automatic transmission

Wow. Never flush again.

First impressions of the trip: Wow. This tire is much more reliable than the previously used Bonty Chapacabra. On the front of the Stache 5 rail, it tracks right where I want it. This is fooling my brain as I'm not sure I really pushed the tires to their limit. It was strange to think that I could bend down like that and not slip. In a very good way. I think it rolls slower but that's probably my brain. Once I've had a few rides, got the pressure right, and gotten them tubeless ready I'll…

  • Satisfied so far

Great tire! Tread pattern super aggressive

Great tire! The tread pattern is super aggressive! I pick an uphill line for the front wheel and it literally "PULLS" me along that line. Yes, it sounds obvious, but MTB will understand me. If you get tired and turn the wheel uphill to keep your balance, most tires are forgiving and you can keep your balance. These DHFs are grabbing the ground and grabbing that leash! It definitely helps me balance better and keep the handlebars straight when climbing. But where this tire makes its living is on

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

One of the best tires I've ridden

I'm always critical of the price tag on mountain bike tires. It's ridiculous how much they charge for them considering their lifespan and durability compared to my truck tires. I just wanted to clarify what my point of view is. Of all tire brands I've tried now and there are many. I've had the longest life with this Maxxis Minion DHF. I run these tubeless tires at about 27-30 psi in the rear with Orange Seal tire sealant. I have a full suspension bike with 6 inches of travel. I ride almost…

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
