Great gift for aspiring designers

My granddaughter is becoming a little seamstress with the help of her mum and these adorable McCall patterns. She loves creating outfits for her American Girl doll so I added some pretty embellishments and embellishments to this gift as well as an 18 inch mannequin which I also found online. . . . and she is in heaven!

Pros
  • Includes pattern and sewing instructions
Cons
  • No machine

Great doll clothes for American Girl dolls

I have made some very cute doll clothes using these patterns. They are perfect for American Girl dolls! The only problem is that the parts of the pattern are poorly labeled so you'll have to keep them together and maybe even label them yourself after you cut them out. This may be typical of a doll clothing pattern, but it was completely different than most human clothing patterns I've used.

Pros
  • Made by McCall's Patterns
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Easy options for your own wardrobe

I have knitted two different sweaters and a top with this pattern following the instructions. I had no major problems trying to assemble the clothes and found it took about 2 hours for each dress. I'm not the most experienced seamstress but I loved my end product and my kids. I managed to match the sweaters on the front to the sweaters I made for my girls so they and their dolls have the same outfits. Considering I made the girls sweater and the doll sweater for less than the cost of a store…

Pros
  • One size
