There is a manual that provides specific types of trees to calibrate the device, but I cannot find my tree type trying to check. The overall accuracy is decent in my opinion, but I really can't say for sure as I wasn't able to calibrate properly for my species of wood. I was only given this to test raw lumber I bought from a lumber mill near my driveway.
