Perfect like well-known brands!

It's nice and strong, like the better known brands, and all at a fraction of the cost. Holds well in hand and pocket. I was able to center/align some case buttons very easily and consistently. I was also able to make some good cuts to catch the tight angle I needed to make. Cheaper alternative to well-known brands!

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Useless features

If you use a speed square on a construction site, keep looking, right?

Product scratched after a month of use where the measurements were inaccurate or readable. I've dropped it maybe 3-4 times and the product is no longer on a flat surface. Also one side is UK which is great because it's Murrica and the other side is metric which is handy for trying to place fasteners on the header. I gave this square to the assistant because it was so lame. Yeah it looks cool it's all black and shit but if I were you I'd buy Empire Square like your buddies.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • Something else

I bought this because of the great reviews. I didn't realize it was only useful on one side! One side is printed in imperial units and the other side is printed in metric units only. So if I had to calculate something from a metric perspective, I had to convert from imperial. It's a pain in the butt. After reading the reviews saying it was on both sides I just assumed it was on both sides.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New Competitors

Incredible quality for the price!

Every carpenter needs a Speed square and I probably buy one a year. Well, that's because I usually buy plastic. I bought it because the writing was easy to read and it was aluminum. Most other metal squares are far from legible. It is very high quality and cheap price. I've been using it for almost a month and the inscription hasn't even been erased yet. If I ever need to buy another one, I will choose it. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

For making a subwoofer enclosure

This tool was useful for making a subwoofer enclosure. I've actually made a subwoofer enclosure without the 'proper' tools in the past and, as you'd expect, the finish has suffered. The box was not stable, there was a deflection. I vowed to do it right next time. The Mecurate tool was perfect for aligning the sides and the inner brace which had to go corner to corner at a 45 degree angle. The white lettering contrasts well with the black aluminum and is easy to read even in bright sunlight. Now

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Available in black only
