Much better than creosote sweep logs in my opinion

Much better than creosote sweep logs in my opinion, which is similar to brushing your teeth once a season: great for just a day. I heat with two wood stoves and I love it. Twice a week, on a good fire, I throw two spoonfuls of it on hot coals. The next morning everything has cooled down, I see that there was dark fat on the inner walls of the oven, now it is light gray and flaky. Doesn't replace brushing my chimney every fall, but now when I use it it's just an inert and flaky residue, not the…

Good product but needs constant use

My 14" x 14" stone chimney has accumulated a significant amount of creosote over the past year. I hired a chimney sweep a year ago and he did his best and cleaned quite a bit but it was very difficult and he couldn't clean everything. I looked at what it could do and decided I didn't think I had enough leftover creosote to start a log fire and I didn't. I have an old large Fisher wood stove and it is a well known creosote manufacturer. I use it as my main heat source, it's not uncommon to keep a fire going for a week or more. I use this product consistently every other day and use about twice the recommended amount. This procedure was achieved after using it at different intervals and doses and checking the condition of the…

sounds good but that's it

My stone fireplace had level 3 creosote build up when I bought a wood stove that was too big for our house and needed to fire it. low so as not to throw us out of the house because of the amount of heat generated by the stove. At 57 I have never bought a product that has exceeded my hopes or expectations, most sound good but that's about it. The mound of creosote was about half an inch thick, black and shiny, and hard as glass, impossible to scratch with a brush. I bought this product as a last
