Surprisingly cheap, compact, durable and versatile.

I absolutely love this tripod. I bought two. I use them for both professional and personal use. I was looking for a travel tripod and if you've been looking, you know tripod costs can be a bit absurd. I had pretty low expectations when I first bought this, but it exceeds in every way. A few plus points are a twist to tighten the legs (much easier than the grips on compact Manfrotto tripods), a small tripod plate that mounts to any camera, is extremely compact for travel and fits in almost any…

Very almost perfect

I *love* this thing. I can't afford to buy big brands in the tripod world and MeFOTO offers a really great product at a very reasonable price. Backpacker is very durable and very easy to carry and use. I use it with my Panasonic GH4. I've only had it for about 15 days, but because it's so easy to carry, it's already having a huge impact on my long exposures (1/4 second) (low light compensation or just motion blur). ) and the degree markings around the head (and ball-independent panning) helped…

  • New in my collection

Good travel tripod - tripods and monopods

I have mixed feelings about this tripod. On the one hand, it fit in my suitcase and kept my camera steady for 30-60 seconds at dusk in Hawaii. This is easily my new travel tripod when I'm flying and need to pack something small, or on a camping trip. On the negative side, the usability just isn't great. Twist lock vs flip lock is a pain. Curls with open legs are cool. The ball head is fine. The legs seem quite fragile, especially when they are far apart, but they are strong enough. I shot with…

UPDATE: Disappointed

Oops I have to change my review from Happy to Disappointed. Structural weakness found. Each leg has a pair of spacers designed to prevent the leg from sliding freely when adjusted. They slip out and stretch the foot. The repair isn't difficult, but it's tedious in the field and annoying to have to do repeatedly. FIRST REVIEW I'm glad I bought this tripod which was recommended to me in my photography course. Haven't taken it outside yet, but installed it and tested it with the camera connected…

Know its limitations and it will do the job

I did a lot of research before purchasing this tripod. Read all negative reviews and ask questions. And I finally decided on this tripod. What were my criteria? The tripod should allow me to take sharp long exposures. It should be easy. It has to be strong enough. He has to pack small. And it should use my existing camera plates and L brackets. A little background about me so you know I'm not just a random user. I take photos professionally. I have quite a bit of gear including 4 other tripods.

Pros
  • Not just useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • There are cons
