f1.7 Max Prime Lens MANUAL

possible large aperture. It's also good for longer outdoor shots, but unless you know how easy it is to control manual focus, it doesn't work as well for action shots. I bought him and his brother a 50mm mic lens for less than $200 each so I could practice with the manual focus lens. Panasonic lens. From my point of view he takes great photos; I have no problem focusing the lens and the focus stays where I put it.

Pros
  • Aperture range: f/1.7-f/22, minimum focus distance: 0.3 m
Cons
  • Power socket required

Good lens but quality control issues

Corrected lenses are so uncharacteristic. When Meike launched a line of manual lenses with a native Micro 4/3 mount, I was dying to try them. Unfortunately, I found their quality control to be very patchy (typical of many Chinese products). If you can get a good copy of this lens, I'm sure it will be a lot of fun and give you pictures with the classic "film" look. But the one I received had a very sticky focus ring - either the lens mount wasn't round or the screw threads were miscut and stuck.

Pros
  • Lens not attached: MANUAL LENS requires you to enable 'M mode' or 'Leave without lens' in camera settings
Cons
  • Neutral

Excellent lens among lenses

I just bought an Olympus OM-D e-M10 Mark II mirrorless camera and take this lens with me. I wasn't inclined to spend a lot of money on an automatic lens. I am very happy with this manual lens. It is well made and can be focused very well. The addition of focus peaking and zoom from the camera makes focusing incredibly easy. My focus is always precise and fast, and I have little reason to want to use an automatic lens. Having taken over a thousand shots with this lens I can say that it produces…

Pros
  • With a large aperture of f/1.7, the lens can be used indoors, at night or in dark environments
Cons
  • Reliability
