Have a nice trip too or a car

This is a great gift or toy to take with you on a trip; Car or plane, to the pool or to the beach. The only downside is that the "water pen" can break easily, and it's good to wipe excess water off the surface of the page with a small cloth or paper towel to keep the pages from sticking together when dry. For money, there can be more pages in the book. After a while the pages dry out and can be used again. Good for a couple of kids to swap. Grab a ziplock bag for some water, cotton swabs, tape…

These water pen coloring books are a brilliant idea! This is perfect if you don't want your kids to draw things they shouldn't. I keep one in my purse and diaper bag to take with me on car trips, doctor's appointments, restaurants, etc. My kids ask for these coloring books almost every day. My only disappointment, so four stars, is that the brush tip ends up breaking because my kids press too hard. In this case, the water does not flow as freely and evenly. I haven't checked if you can buy a…

Excellent but the coating is slightly scratched.

My 2 year old LOVES this! One entertained him for 15 minutes, then he started the second! He's done with both and is looking forward to them drying so he can start again. The only downside (and why I'm giving it 4 stars) is that the coating seems to scratch easily exposing the paint underneath. My little one didn't understand at first that the brush was the only part that had to be used, so he put more effort into it than he would with a pen or marker. The plastic of the "brush" scratched the…

A must-buy for your little artists!

I bought this for my 3 year old grandson after too much 'creative drawing' was painting my walls and tables. These water pills from Melissa and Doug are just what I needed for both of us. He found his "creative drawings" to be mini-masterpieces and my walls were saved! The best is not a special or expensive tool, just plain water! Melissa & Doug water pads are reusable and once dry you can try them. The 'sides' are thick planks that can withstand multiple immersions in water, which is fun for a

Great idea, poor execution

You know, my experience with a lot of M&D products is that it's a good idea, but poorly executed. This is a great idea. But it's made to only last for a few uses and then become useless. I think M&D makes it so you have to buy a new set every time you take your little one on a 10 hour car ride. We've had several of these over the years and many brush pens stopped working after a day or two. Or if the baby pushes too hard, it scratches the surface. Or if you close the book while it's still being

Dirt free fun for 2 to 5 year olds

Despite some friends raving reviews I was hesitant to buy these because 2 year old watercolors sounded like a mess. Finally bought to use as an Easter basket and I'm very glad I did. I keep one in my purse for restaurant/reception/church entertainment. You simply fill the little pen with some water and squeeze the tip to make it work. Each book has some thick pages that your child just needs to brush over with a wet brush to bring out the colors. This is great for younger children who want to…
