Confusing connection

The product itself looks nice and tidy. I was able to connect the power supply to successfully test CD insertion and ejection. However, I could not connect to the computer (Duracom IBM running Windows XP). There might be a better explanation with a diagram (which pin is on the connector? Which of the two possible ports am I plugged into?)

Items missing from order

My order arrived quickly but was missing the user manual and 2 writable CDs that should have been included. I emailed the company but the goods never shipped.

Memorex 32023261 USB 2.0 CD-RW Drive (52x/32x/52x)

I am a 35 year old graduate electrical engineer and I have just went through everything over the weekend to get this drive working on our windows xp laptop. Windows Media Player could contact the CD_RW for reading, but the writing is very questionable and I'm pretty sure I have the right media. Microsoft does not have drivers for the Memorex line of products on its website. There are no manuals or drivers to download from the memorex website. Pooh! Optical drives

Be sure to keep your receipt. Chances are you'll be quick to return it for a refund. I spent my whole day off trying to find out! It comes and goes on my system. He's there for a moment, and then he hides. It is very difficult and impossible to understand. I advise everyone to look elsewhere.
