Everything is fine on the bread knife

Everything is fine. Does not hold a point when boning Kue Stag. I would imagine this bad boy being even worse in big game like elk or elk. For a boned deer I wouldn't buy it again. maybe something else is ok. Although this is a boning knife I don't know what you would use it for, it would be great. It's not a filleting knife, it's not a butcher's knife and it's certainly not a butcher's knife. I do not know. This knife didn't hold the blade well when butchering 60lb deer, but it served the…

OMG what a knife!

I bought this knife because I was learning how to bake sourdough bread during the pandemic and slicing with my old Calphalon bread knife is always a problem, even after sharpening. This knife arrived today and I decided to test it on a Publix subwoofer I bought for lunch. I asked them not to cut the motif in half, so when I got home I cut it myself and this knife goes through the whole motif like butter. It's almost scary how easily he cuts through the bread and all the ingredients in between…

Great knife, an error

I am "picky" when it comes to paring knives as I use LOTS of them. This one will definitely stay in my kitchen. It's a lot of fun to work with, even though it looks cheap and plastic, I just throw it in the dishwasher and it's done. Ok, what's the downside? He's too fat. The top of the blade is 1.2mm thick. You can buy knives on Amazon that are 40% thinner, which is a hell of a thing when cutting starchy foods. I have Henckel paring knives, but I'm sure there are others. However, some people…

and just about anything else you can imagine

Buy this knife! You will thank me every time you use it and since this will be the only knife you will use most of the time you will be very grateful to me. I ordered this to replace my bread knife and can't believe I hit the knife jackpot with this little beauty. It slices bread perfectly and effortlessly which is what I was hoping for. But it also cuts EVERYTHING ELSE perfectly and easily. Meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and just about anything else you can think of. My dear slicers are…

Simple serrated knife with super-sharp Japanese steel blade

A superb bread knife is a serrated blade that can cut through hard loaves of crusty bread as well as thin, tender slices of ripe tomatoes for sandwiches. The knife's plastic handle isn't pretty, but it doesn't slip out of your hand when you're slicing through loaves of bread and bagels, making it a smart option for safety. The Mercer Culinary Millenia glides like butter through bread and soft fruit and doesn't require much effort, but note that this knife's wider, deeper ridges give you a…

Life-changing: cutlery and knife accessories

If a knife can change lives, then this is it. Like many bread bakers during lockdown, whipping up crispy fresh buns was like holding a toothbrush to a tree trunk. The slices were thick, uneven, uneven, torn, my favorite delicious bread was uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. This knife takes care of all that. I can easily cut fairly thin even slices. No bicep workout, no drama. Worth every penny and more. I ordered a cover to protect the blade as this is a long knife and it sits underneath some other kitchen…

Very sharp! Buy Band Aid

Okay I'm new to the real kitchen and my cheap knives just didn't work for me. For starters, I wanted a cheap chef's knife. I'm used to ordering knives by mail order to be blunt or minimally sharp. So I was really surprised when I hit the back of my hand *lightly* with the tip of the blade and bled profusely! After two days and seven patches, I reached the point where I stopped hurting myself and/or ruining food. A month later everything is holding up well. No signs of chipping or metal…

Great knife! Very inexpensive! Treat him with respect, he's hot!

This is my second Mercer Culinary Millennia. The first was a bread knife that cuts through the thickest, hardest crust of bread imaginable with such ease that I can REALLY thinly slice freshly baked sourdough bread without putting pressure on it or crushing the loaf! I had no idea. why the knife has dimples on the blade so I checked. Apparently, the indentations prevent large, heavy objects from snagging when you're trying to cut them, as is often the case with watermelon and winter squash. It…
