Review on 🍞 Mercer Culinary Millennia M23210WBH 10-Inch Wide Wavy Edge Bread Knife - White by Henry Hunter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great knife! Very inexpensive! Treat him with respect, he's hot!

This is my second Mercer Culinary Millennia. The first was a bread knife that cuts through the thickest, hardest crust of bread imaginable with such ease that I can REALLY thinly slice freshly baked sourdough bread without putting pressure on it or crushing the loaf! I had no idea. why the knife has dimples on the blade so I checked. Apparently, the indentations prevent large, heavy objects from snagging when you're trying to cut them, as is often the case with watermelon and winter squash. It cuts through a watermelon like no other knife I've ever seen and I've had several expensive knives. (I haven't winterized the squash yet, but I'm assuming that would work too.) At the same time, I picked up a paring knife in this line. Since you don't have to push hard to cut with these knives you are less likely to get a bad cut but as they say they are very sharp so you have to be careful not to bump the blade as there is they can pierce your skin. I'm actually a pretty clumsy person (my family renamed my steak, mushroom, onion, and cheese sandwich "steak and thumb sandwich," just to give you a hint). I got a few small cuts from hitting the blades, but I have all parts of my body, I didn't cut myself actually cutting something with a knife, and I didn't get those kind of cuts that I often get with less sharp knives. . (Maybe I shouldn't be allowed to use knives at all, but I love to cook and bake bread and can't have everything cut by the maid.) I actually get fewer cuts than usual!

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
