Not good. The laces are slippery, the rubber tore easily.

In terms of fit and comfort, my daughter said we're great. Unfortunately, she couldn't learn how to tie those shoelaces. Too short and too smooth. Even the double knots were sometimes untied, and she staggered in her shoes for half a day. Then, after just a few weeks, the decorative swirls on the rubber broke and we had to reattach them with superglue. To put it mildly, disappointed. wasted money She now refuses to wear them as we have NO other shoes for her. Skip this model.

Pros
  • Fantastic
Cons
  • Not suitable for extreme hiking or mountaineering where more durable footwear is required.

Great walking shoes for kids

I bought these shoes for my 10 year old. She needed a pair of running shoes as her feet were sore and slippery when she was walking in regular Nike tennis shoes. They worked great and were a reasonable price.

Pros
  • Great looking shoes, well made and look like they will last...at least until he outgrows them.
Cons
  • Shoe construction may not provide adequate ankle support, increasing the risk of injury while walking.

Looks good: my review

My child does not walk well in shoes. This is the 5th pair of shoes in 6 months. 2 Nike and 2 UA didn't last long. They seem better built, only time will tell.

Pros
  • Excellent children's hiking shoes, light, durable and, thanks to well-designed grips, do not bring dirt into the house.
Cons
  • Limited Color Options - Grey/Orange may not please everyone.

Not good. The laces are slippery, the rubber tore easily.

I've never had a shoe like this. Tried the shoe on and fell in love immediately. You don't even notice that you're wearing a shoe. So far, the shoe is also very robust.

Pros
  • My 7 year old says comfortable and grippy. So far they've held up well.
Cons
  • They were ordered in large widths, but they weren't wide. Please widen your shoes, Merrell!

Great hiking shoes for children and teenagers.

Bought these for my 13 year old son for our hiking and camping trips. He says they are very soft on the feet and hug the wet rocks perfectly when walking along the creek. These shoes look really great in person. The photos don't do them justice.

Pros
  • The Merrell ALTALIGHT Low hiking shoe is made of high-quality materials and built to last. Its sturdy construction ensures durability, while the non-slip outsole provides confident traction on all types of terrain, ensuring the user can walk confidently on any surface without compromising their stability or safety.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people with flat feet or high arches who need special shoes to support their feet while hiking.
