These are "Two baby shoes "

I bought them in December and my son wore them to school almost every day from December to June, sometimes in the summer and then again every day from mid-August to mid-October. I have just ordered the next size up as they are too small but am very happy they are still in perfect condition to pass on to my next son. They are very well made and strong but light enough to be a casual shoe. He's worn Nike and New Balance shoes in the past and they were comfortable, they just wore out twice as…

    Pros
    • Excellent quality shoes. The grip is good. Not too hard. Good seams. Exactly what I was hoping for.
    Cons
    • Shoes fell apart after 4 months. The heel part of the boot is broken.

    Appearances are deceptive

Nice shoes at first glance. I bought this particular style for my 8 year old as he doesn't like shoes with laces. Bought from a trusted brand, I have owned many Merrells myself over the years. The poor rating is due to the poor design of the shoe's tongue, which slips off during use. There is no way to prevent this as elastic laces do not have a pulley system to tighten and secure them. Not the best idea to wear these shoes with active kids, which I know must be very uncomfortable. Otherwise…

    Pros
    • These shoes are difficult to put on. Once on, fits well and stays. The fit is true to size and they are durable.
    Cons
    • not bad; albeit a little thin

Too narrow (even for a narrow foot)

These are really good shoes, but they are too difficult to put on. Once they don't complain about my 5 year old son. I have read other reviews saying they are too narrow but my son has relatively narrow feet so I didn't think this would be a problem. I was wrong. Wouldn't buy again.

    Pros
    • My 7 year old loves his new shoes!
    Cons
    • Shoelaces must not be left tied.

    The best children's shoes

The best kids shoes you can endure (scooters, skateboards, sandbox, life!) --- will never buy Nike again! Merrell shoes are the best!

    Pros
    • Perfect in every way
    Cons
    • Maybe not worth the price

Good shoes .... in my review.

Very cute and just what we were looking for. The only problem with this shoe is that the velcro is too short to fully cover the closure. However, it partially closes (60% coverage band) and persists. My son can't wear some other brands because the velcro is so short it doesn't touch any part of the clasp.

    Pros
    • Hike
    Cons
    • May not provide good traction on slippery surfaces.

Velcro gives way like everything else. . .

Merrell has to be a trusted brand. The velcro broke after a few weeks. Our only salvation is that I embroider. I sewed the velcro back on and everything has been fine ever since. I will order again knowing I will fix this shortcoming but the rest of the shoe was great.

    Pros
    • The kids love them... and they're well made.
    Cons
    • May be uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time

    Durable and robust: my rating

Tough and tough, good for an eight year old in snow, rain and hard play. They were a bit stiff at first but I think they are softening up. I hope this will keep my sons feet warm and dry at school this winter.

    Pros
    • Satisfied.
    Cons
    • Cannot provide enough padding for comfort

"They are perfect for adventures! "

Here's what my 5 year old son had to say about his new Merrells! He loves her! They fit well and have great traction on different terrains. Very satisfied!

    Pros
    • grandson loves her
    Cons
    • Outsole wears out quickly

    Defect - do not buy!

Do not buy! I bought these from Revain despite reading reviews about the laces or the bungee breaking. They lasted 2 days! The repair seems easy. I called Merrill customer service to see if I could fix them and they don't fix shoes, they just replace them. What a waste! I will return them to Revain and order another brand.

    Pros
    • Good quality, good fit.
    Cons
    • May not provide adequate protection from the elements

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

and these are my favorites! The quality is excellent

I have bought my 4 year old all the well known brands of shoes and these are by far my favourites! The quality is excellent. I will buy more in the future!

    Pros
    • The shoes are very durable. My son loves her
    Cons
    • Cannot provide good ankle support

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well made and true to size.

I bought these shoes for my 8 year old son who is a size 2.5. They fit him perfectly and look great. He's glad he doesn't have to tie his shoelaces!

    Pros
    • The shoes are well made, but run very large.
    Cons
    • Cannot provide adequate arch support

but they are also great for everyday school use

I bought these for my kids science camp but they are also great for school use. My daughter has the same pair and she loves them too.

    Pros
    • Very good
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for intense hiking or backpacking.

Robust shoes with a perfect fit!

I love the durability of Merrell soles! They stand up to a lot of activity and fit (not to mention a lot of size options) just right. I bought two sizes because I wasn't sure how they would fit, but I'm keeping both because the larger size will end up being used.

    Pros
    • Good quality, good looks. My son said they were comfortable and I have not heard any complaints.
    Cons
    • Can be difficult to clean

    Revainrating 2 out of 5

    No better than cheaper options.

My son doesn't like shoes. I was hoping that with a well known brand like Merrell they would last longer than 4 months. The material on the toe began to diverge almost immediately.

    Pros
    • High quality shoes! Great fit, comfortable and built to last. Merrel are great!
    Cons
    • May cause blisters or discomfort during break-in period

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great shoes - no laces to tie.

Very nice shoes, good quality. Will be perfect for our upcoming family walking holiday. My son says they are really comfortable and he loves that he doesn't have to pinch them.

    Pros
    • I love these shoes, great fit. My son is tough on his clothes and shoes and they have held up well
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for all types of terrain

Wrong size ..!! - my new rating

Boots are great. My husband has been buying them for years. Wrong size the first time. We've never had that on a Revain order. So five stars for the product. One star for whoever put them in the box!

    Pros
    • My 3 year old loves these shoes and probably won't take them off!
    Cons
    • May be too tight for some feet

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

My boy loves them in my rating.

These are my little boy's everyday shoes. he loves them because it is so easy for him to put them on himself. They are well made and the material is comfortable. He's been using them for a few months now and they look like day one. Overall great shoes!

    Pros
    • Great shoes
    Cons
    • Not very durable

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    Great experience and shoes

These shoes run small. My 5 year old is currently a size 11 so I ordered a size 11 1/2. They were actually slightly smaller (same length but narrower) than his old shoes. I had no problems with the exchange and ordered a 12 1/2 which fits him perfectly. Impeccable customer service, very easy process to fix the wrong size.

    Pros
    • It's easy on your feet if you stand on them all day like I do.
    Cons
    • Might not fit right

Having bought three more pairs of Merrill children's shoes I was very disappointed in this pair. Actually, my only criticism is that the tongue of the shoe is too narrow and slides back and forth in the shoe and protrudes through the open lacing area. Super annoying! You are less likely to buy another similar style. However, I am a fan of Merrill shoes.

    Pros
    • So far, so good. Looks great as expected.
    Cons
    • May not be the best choice for children with wide feet.

We bought two pairs of these shoes, one for my 5 year old and one for my 7 year old. Both are falling apart now. The velcro on these shoes is rubbish and doesn't stand up to normal use by kids. It detaches from the shoes (see photo). It's a shame because my kids love these shoes, they're comfortable and otherwise seem well made. But the issue with the velcro is HUGE and renders the shoe unusable once it breaks (shoes don't stay in place while running). Despite its reputation as a quality brand,

    Pros
    • You can't go wrong with Merrels for Kids. They last forever, look good and offer great support.
    Cons
    • maybe not very stylish.
