I had an earlier version of these shoes that I bought about six years ago. They lasted quite a while, but when I saw them I decided to do them again. Another pair has a shiny leather finish, these have a matte finish. I like the look and the feel.

I have bought dozens of Merrell shoes and loved them all until now this one. It's terrible. In the end, the bean counters won out - it's a cheap knockoff of the old Merrell. Hard and uncomfortable cheap sole with no grip. The worst thing is the lack of depreciation. It is sad to see this happening, you could always buy Merrell with complete confidence in the past.

Read other reviews I was a little concerned that these shoes were too big. I usually wear 13 EEEE in Nike sneakers so I ordered 13 wide and they are about the width I was expecting. I've been wearing these shoes for 3 years since they stopped making the previous version. I have a second pair and the third pair is in the closet when the current pair wears out. I've had my current pair for over a year now. They still have quite a bit of life in them and are still comfortable to wear all day. I bought another pair to wear in while my current pair is still wearable. I found it better to wear a new pair for a few hours and then switch back to my current pair.
