Hm. I almost sent them back. I don't think they are waterproof. My baby socks are always wet when we get home. Now that I think about it, the larger sizes I bought are definitely not waterproof. Aside from not being waterproof, they are great for short hikes in the woods. They are fairly light and comfortable as you would expect from a foam soled hiking shoe. They appear to be a bit large, which is also great.

They fit well and cover the ankles well but other reviews put me off saying they aren't waterproof so I decided to give that a try before letting the kids wear them on the trail. I used a garden hose to mimic a rain shower. The first drops were repelled by the fabric, but very soon the paper I put inside got wet, especially where the suede meets the mesh. They are good but not waterproof. My feet always got wet when there was snow on the ground, even if I was just walking around town on the sidewalk. Silicone treatment didn't help at all. I think they are leaking at the seams at the top. Otherwise they are great but I really wanted the boots to stay dry. UPDATE: After 5 months of frequent use they are gone.
