Truly beautiful Knife.

I love this knife. It's gorgeous to look at and cuts well and feels good in the hand.I only have a teensy weensy little complaint.the Sheath. No belt I've got will fit through the loop. So.no complaint with the knife.just the leather sheath.Still though. Would buy again and plan on buying others from their line in the future.Highly recommend!

Pros
  • The unique design of the boar's head hilt adds a touch of strength and ferocity to the knife, making it a great addition to any warrior's collection
Cons
  • The knife is not very balanced

A Critical Review: craftsmanship was disappointing

In-depth honest review: Super fast shipping my knife arrived a day early! It was packaged with care, the knife had a rubber tip guard and was in a nice drawstring bag, and the blade was coated with a liberal amount of oil. Let me start by stating I do realize every knife is unique. The knife was really dirty, as motor oil was used to quench the knife during tempering. It did have bluing on the the blade and handle (hard black blemishes that will eventually flake off causing pitting) The knife…

Knife review - my new review

This knife is very good for my expectation, I use it for bushcraft, the style is exactly what I was looking for and the metal holds decent also I like that the manufacturer really cares about the product being sold and the customer. However as everything has a con to it's pro, if you are looking for a knife that is more ergonomic and has extreme durability as most modern knifes do with higher carbon steel and duracoating you won't find that in this knife, but that is not what I believe is the…

Cons
  • The blade can be difficult to sharpen

Sturdy blade good for me

Despite all the negative critiques, both the knife and the sheath appear to be well made. The sheath is simple and functional, and the blade appears strong and sturdy. It takes an edge, easily, with merely a sharpening steel. Anticipating the results, I get, when I apply m/ sharpening bels and strop! Very satisfied, indeed.

Pros
  • The Norse Tradesman Viking Knife is more than just a tool, it's a work of art that's perfect for displaying on a mantel or in a trophy case
Cons
  • The boar's head hilt is not very well-crafted

Odin would be proud.

I ordered this for my husband as a gift but before giving it to him, I took it out and thoroughly inspected it. This is a true, hand forged knife, not some flimsy replica made of inferior materials. The description does not lie, this is a hefty, single piece of carbon steel that's been carefully crafted and it shows. The detailing on the head of the knife is perfect and just detailed enough without being over the top. When my husband opened it, he was wowed by it. He loves that it's from a…

Cons

Worth the price of admission.

This is a very sturdy feeling knife. Seems like it will be able to take whatever punishment I put it through. I am going to have to sharpen it, but most knives don't come as sharp as I like them. I'll also need to do a bit of work on the handle, it's somewhere in between being able to grip the whole handle comfortably and gripping it with my fingers in between. Curse of having odd sized hands.

Pros
  • The carbon steel blade is perfect for use in the kitchen, allowing for clean and precise cuts that make food preparation a breeze
Cons
  • The knife is not very aesthetically pleasing

Sharp as a spoon for my opinion

So as a blade smith here's my takeaway. The box it came in says it was made in India. That aside ill be regrinding the edge because it shrinks. The further away from the top you get the less edge bevel the blade has making the back half of the knife useless without some serious work. Outside of that I haven't yet checked the heat treat but it looks like it's made out of an old car leaf spring. But it is about as sharp as a pointy butter knife right now.

This is purely handmade

I've read a number of reviews that criticize the appearance of the blade and the wrap of the leather around the handle. This knife is meant to be rough as hand forged usually is. I might even say that it is period perfect. I can't imagine Viking knives to be shiny and as razor sharp as high quality stamped manufactured knives we can buy today. This knife is unique. No others made by even the same person will be like another.I personally love this knife. It is going to be a gift to a person (an…

Really impressed: my feedback

I wasn't expecting much ordering this off Best Buy, and I'm no expert, but this looks like good quality. Came in a nice box I can wrap up too.

Cons
  • The boar's head hilt can be uncomfortable to use for long periods of time

I like this blade a lot.

I like this blade a lot. It's solid, attractive, very functional. The sheath is nice and the boar's head is a very nice touch. My only complaint is that the handle ( hand grip) is cheap looking and somewhat fragile looking when compared to the blade itself. It does not compliment the blade. I may try to get the hand grip changed or something because the blade and the boar's head is pretty awes

Cons
