I ordered this for my husband as a gift but before giving it to him, I took it out and thoroughly inspected it. This is a true, hand forged knife, not some flimsy replica made of inferior materials. The description does not lie, this is a hefty, single piece of carbon steel that's been carefully crafted and it shows. The detailing on the head of the knife is perfect and just detailed enough without being over the top. When my husband opened it, he was wowed by it. He loves that it's from a single piece of steel from end to end, and how carefully crafted it is. He was impressed with the weight of it, as well as how sharp it already came. This will be used for re-enacting events, and the provided sheath fits perfectly on his Viking era belt.Also, a word on the seller as well - they were fantastic to deal with and sent an email with detailed care instructions. I'm hoping they'll have more offerings on Best Buy very soon as my husband's birthday is only months away.
