Great antenna for accessories and consumables

I couldn't use this item. But I have installed similar types on cars and trucks. And when properly lubricated, they last a long time.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • I'm worried

Classic universal antenna

I've searched everywhere for one to replace the one on my Willys Jeep CJ-5. Most of them were either plastic fakes or shipped from China on slow ships. This one is genuine and shipped from inside the US, and with Prime it arrived the next day!

Pros
  • This is awesome
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

I don't like the plastic base.

This antenna picks up transmitters in South Georgia over a hundred miles away. 1 star deduction for the plastic base. Most antennas of this type that I have had in the past have been cast/metal. I stayed almost a month. I had to pull it up a few times. It's on a logging vehicle that gets a lot of abuse. Definitely worth $17.99 for what it is.

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

I don't like the plastic base.

This antenna will work with South Georgia stations over 100 miles away. 1 star deduction for the plastic base. Most antennas of this type that I have had in the past have been cast/metal. I stayed almost a month. I had to pull it up a few times. It's on a logging vehicle that gets a lot of abuse. Definitely worth $17.99 for what it is.

Pros
  • 53" 3 piece spring mast
Cons
  • Expensive

Worked well until rust and corrosion problems

Worked fine for about 3-4 months. "Chrome" spring began to rust. I cleaned and waxed it with a metal cleaner/polish. In less than a couple of weeks, the rust returned and only got worse. Then it almost stopped working (terrible reception). The connection between the sliders has rusted and lost their connection. Couldn't fix it at all.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Exorbitant price

Absolute rubbish and low quality

Extremely disappointed with the poor quality and finish of this antenna. The main stem wobbles and rattles and won't tighten. The shank is pushed onto the screw and just keeps turning due to the poor design. The plastic base is slotted and can in no way be considered airtight or watertight and there is no way to securely tighten it. I didn't even bother to install it. It doesn't live up to my expectations for an acceptable replacement. I wanted this as a replacement antenna for a 10 year old…

Pros
  • Very good quality
Cons
  • Vanish

Great reception, NOT great when installed on the roof.

Not fun to install the mounting system securely. After the whole thing was firmly fixed on the silicone sealing bead, water was still dripping from the core onto my headliner. Not from the black gasket but from the core where the wire comes out. To make matters worse, within 3 weeks I had rust on the spring and adjusting screw. Stunned that it wasn't a stainless steel screw and at least a coated or non-corroded spring. Looks terrible now. Although the reception is perfect. Not bad if you want…

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs
