Fits Ford Explorer 04

Applies to Ford Explorer 04 with improved sound (CD changer and subwoofer) and factory DVD in the back seat. This worked great for connecting the factory rear video to the aux input of a replacement stereo!

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Not sure

Great for radio wiring harnesses

This worked great on my 2005 Ford Expedition to keep the factory rear DVD player. Connected to a two din pioneer everything worked. This is a basic requirement for long trips with kids, so this should work.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Reliability

It is poorly made and will not fit the 2003 or 2004 Excursion (F-250)

This product will not fit the 2003 or 2004 Ford Excursion. It was very poorly assembled and when I tried to attach it for one of my outings it fell apart. The shrink wrap was not stretched tightly so it came loose and could not be used.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Some issues

Must be modified to work with 03' Expedition

The 03' Expedition needs to be split into different stereos as 2 different seat belts are sold for the 03' model. However, the DVD storage system is not just a plug and play system, it needs to be modified to make it work. Thanks to YouTube for helping set up the DVD storage system.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not all will fit

Almost everything is fine, the audio jacks were present.

Pretty ok the audio jacks were in the right place for me but the audio on was in the wrong place so the jack had to be re-pinned to work properly. One note: on many Ford/Lincoln vehicles this is audio on the radio. If you have an aftermarket deck and expect audio to return (for headphones) you'll find that it might not work.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Weight

Tour rig best for car AV rig

You need this wiring harness connector and Ford PAC 98-04 20 pin adapter cable to make a true wiring harness replacement. The connector on this wiring harness is not suitable for excursions built after 2004. You must craft your own Frankenstein between the two parts. A bit of work, but plug and play quality. You will also likely need a pac sni-1 noise isolator. My aftermarket head unit introduced noise into the rear entertainment system without them.

Pros
  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • Repair

This crap doesn't work

This crap doesn't work. I am not sure which car it is for but I can tell you it is not for a Ford rear DVD system. I saw a video on youtube where a guy ordered the same wire harness, just cut off the receiver and wired it permanently to the DVD system. You can either do this or save some money and just buy AV cables, cut off the ends and connect them to your existing wiring harness. However, I simply dropped the entire DVD center and hooked up the AV cables to the system. It hurt, but a lot…

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
