Metra 95 8155 Installation 1997 2001 Vehicles Review

This is not a hard plastic. It's more like a soft flexible plastic faceplate and the mounting brackets are very flexible too. Wasn't expecting it for the price, but it serves its purpose. Arrived broken but still works. The bifurcated part connecting it to the stereo mounts was bent and one was completely broken. I just bent and assembled them. I'm pretty sure it was bent in transit as it was sent in a padded envelope.

I bought this thing thinking it would work with my old Lexus. It's not like this. It fit and had the right overall shape but was so cheaply made it couldn't handle the minimum shipping and looked awful! I'll throw it away and buy another one, unfortunately from the same company and for around $5. more. Functionality wasn't my only consideration. I can confirm what many other reviews say. This is the most brittle piece of plastic I've ever seen in a dashboard. I tested the plastic cover on my double din stereo and lo and behold, it doesn't fit. Not nearly! I had to break out my trusty dremel to sharpen the brittle plastic hoping I wouldn't break it into pieces. In the end I picked up the device and installed it in my car.
