Make sure you don't have external amplifiers in your car

Do yourself a favor and make sure you don't have a premium sound pack before installing. I used this on my 07 Mustang to replace an aftermarket radio that was installed when I got the car. They made it cheaper and used a wiring harness very similar to this one, so I used the cheap one too. Turns out my car has two external subwoofer amps in the doors and two external subwoofer amps in the trunk (the trunk setup was gone when I got the car) so I just ran door tweeters and rear seat tweeters. I…

Facilitates the installation of a secondary stereo system.

This adapter fits the factory plug perfectly and the color scheme matches the color scheme of the wiring for the aftermarket stereo making it very easy, just color match it (but be careful to match exactly check, just because that's my coincidences doesn't mean someone else won't). The wires come pre-scrubbed so you don't even need tools, you can just screw them together if you like (I soldered my connections and heat shrunk them). In my case there was one wire that didn't work. My factory…

Good radio harness

I only deducted one star because there should be more wires in the harness. Some of the cables weren't where they should have been for my setup, so I had to pull them out and move them to where they needed to be. If the wires were already there and accessible I would have no trouble installing this at all. Perhaps even an extra pair of cables that came with the kit but was not pre-installed in the package would be useful. I would even consider buying additional cables if they came…

Works with mods in my 2006 Sonata

If you have a 2006 Sonata that uses this connector, buy two of these so you can remove the wires from one and plug them into the other. I took the large ground wire from the harness part and stuck it on pin 24 (the big empty hole next to the speaker terminals). This is for connecting the inclusion of an antenna booster. For the section with all the really small connectors, I don't even remember what I ended up moving where, but I did swap a few cables based on reading the service manual. I…

Do your car audio/video installation homework

As for the connectors, the factory wiring harness fits. When it comes to presentation, the devil is always in the details. Bought for an 11 F250 which they checked before ordering it was the right adapter. NOT RIGHT. The only thing that was right was that it actually matched the wire harness, put the coil here. A few pins were misplaced and also the fact that it was only 1 of the 2 plugs that my pickup needed. Which isn't necessarily their fault, but still a little annoying. In the end…

Honest evaluation of a good device

The device arrived as expected and the installation was as noted in other reviews, easy, with patience and attention to detail. I also installed a backup camera and it works fine as long as it's in the right position. If you have a pickup, spend the extra money and buy a rear door camera, it's worth the extra pennies. The device responds well to finger touches, albeit a bit slower in the colder months. Bluetooth works well, but it sometimes takes a while to connect, which isn't enough to…

MUST READ FOR 2004 or most other Mercury Grand Marquis

EDIT; It does not fit my 04 Mercury Grand Marquis as advertised. I'm editing this in hopes of helping you if you have a Grand Marquis. Here's what I found after digging deeper. There are 2 possible adapters, it could be this one or 70-1771. So before you order this one, even if it says it's compatible, it might not be. first look at your fork. If it is less than this product you will need 70-1771. This is a photo of my connector and it takes a 70-1771, although Revain and Page will say it's not
