🔌 Metra MC918-20 20ft 9-Conductor 18 AWG Twisted Multi-Purpose Cable Review

It just got easier to run a signal through my speakers! From my amp (P1000X5) to the factory wiring harness to power all 6 speakers (Infinity REF-9630CX/Pioneer TS-S062PRS front and Pioneer TS-D1720C rear). Furnished very clean. Clear signal without interference.

What has arrived is not Metra marked. 9-core cable. I haven't opened the package yet as I'm waiting for the rest of the audio components to arrive. As soon as I open the package, I check the wire size and material. If this is the same as Metra I will update my review.

I make car audio harnesses and what I like about this cable compared to the Stinger is its thickness and better color. The black line is clearly visible on the negatives, while it's barely visible on the Stinger version. I just want them to sell this material in 250ft rolls.

No problem with broken cables. The description says it's Metra but under the Install Bay brand. Don't worry, Install Bay is a trademark of Metra. A small detail is that on some cables, contrasting colors are difficult to see in low light. For example, black stripes on a purple or green wire.

I bought another one, but another brand, because I needed it as soon as possible, and another brand is more expensive, the insulation is not enough, and the thickness of each insulation is different. As a result, the wire strippers cut the wires. So now I know I have to stick with the Metra brand!

Ideal for adding a 5 channel amplifier (if compatible) using the factory head unit's high level inputs rather than a line out converter to a bunch of low level -Add RCA cables. Using a wire harness adapter, I soldered two sets of this 9-wire speaker wire; first from the head unit output to the high input of the amplifier and then from the speaker output of the amplifier back to the factory speaker harness which was disconnected. This worked well with my Toyota Tacoma 2021's stock audio upgrade.

This is NOT 18 AWG. It's not even 20 AWG. It's only 22 AWG. The wire is printed at 18 AWG, but it's only 22. It's 100% copper. The outer insulation is good and flexible. It cuts and comes out easily. Individual insulation is the same, no stripping problems. All cables appear to be of good quality. I haven't checked the length yet as I will most likely be returning it.
