I bought this lamp to use as a lamp and also to enhance conference calls in low light conditions. This lamp illuminates my face well when placed directly behind the monitor. My main complaint (but expected for this type of lamp): Bulbs cannot be changed, so the whole unit has to be sent to e-waste. My minor complaint (more of a mild annoyance than a complaint): the on/off dot works for 2 warm/bright light options as well as on/off which means you have to tap it 3 times to turn it off.
