I have had two SCR3500 readers in the last 7 years and they have worked fine. However, I cannot get the SCR3500A to work on my Mac systems. Works great! Now here's the trick! It doesn't work the way a normal/stupid person would expect! You really need to work, go online and type the CAC card access driver into a search engine. Download the appropriate one for your software. I didn't realize I had to do all this, but obviously you have to do this for all types of drivers and computers. This unit is great in its own right. The small size is incredible. We use it on 2 devices, both Macs. I even use it on an expansion port with an imac because the USB is at the back. There is no problem for the Mac to recognize the device. The reader is about the size of a small USB stick and protrudes slightly. As a portable CAC card reader this worked great. for the first six months. I used it at most once a week for remote access to my work network.
