Surprisingly well built and smooth shifting

I've got drop bars and these 3x7 shifters to convert my old MTB into a budget gravel bike. They were hooked up directly to a 1994 Shimano Deore groupset. They shift smoothly and are well built. And the price is right. Even my LBS mechanic is impressed with it.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • When in doubt

Really very good, best in cycling

Bought these to build a conversion to a drop bar mountain bike and didn't want to spend a lot of money on a set of name brand components. I thought I would try. No complaints yet. Qualitatively a good setup seems to have been easy and the 3x7 indexing I bought is spot on.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Excellent quality and good switching

They come with no instructions but are quite basic. I had to remove the clamp entirely to get through the twists and turns in my bars. Still tweaking the setup for optimal shifting, cables stretching etc. It should be an easy task for an experienced bike mechanic to set them up. Some great reviews on them on YouTube. Can't beat the money and way better than my down tube shifters!

Pros
  • hands free
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Great budgets!

Yes I know it's a brazen copy of Microshift brifters. I know I've been using Microshift since their inception and they're amazing. That being said, these budget brifters are pretty damn good for the price. Shift response is crisp, brake levers are smooth and responsive, and for cheap Chinese parts, build quality is pretty good. Apart from the fact that the paddles feel a little "plastic" you would not have guessed that this is not a Microshift. Great for a budget build, winter rackets, bike…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Not sure

Buy them if you can find them!

These Micronew Brifters are totally legal! Arrived earlier than planned. No fancy packaging or instructions, just bubble wrap and product. Installation may require some experience, but overall installation was easy. I like the feel and shape of the hoods. Good ergonomic handles, very comfortable. The slices are well indexed by default. In my experience, very minor adjustments are required. The shifters feel sturdy and shift with relative ease. Time will tell its durability. I am very happy with

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Damaged

Works great so far.

So far they have worked well. The bars were longer, it was quite difficult to attach them without unscrewing the bolt. Otherwise I think the price is really good. The rear derailleur is nice and snappy with a good tactile click, and it's nice that the front derailleur has two "clicks" so you can trim it down a bit if the chain is annoyingly rubbing on the front derailleur. - as long as they last. (Edit, check almost 6 months.) - Still holding up very well. I'm going on a 3000 mile tour so we'll

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
