No Lyons. No USB charging and no AA capability

Acceptable radio in terms of size, looks and features. I've seen it come with NiMH batteries, but any other similar radios I've had might work with AA batteries as well. Well, they can't. NIMH does not last as long as lithium, especially in cold/winter conditions. Plus, you can't even charge locally via USB. I wish I had researched this more carefully before purchasing.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Something different

Revain website is incorrect, does not accept regular batteries of any kind. Only use the battery provided. As I go on long hunting trips this doesn't work for me so I went back and ordered a GTX1000VP4 which uses either the battery that comes with it or 4 AA alkaline batteries. Alkaline ones also last about twice as long as rechargeable ones.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Doubtful

does not support normal batteries

The product description incorrectly states "Requires 6 AA batteries. (included)". Unlike other Midland models, this one doesn't support regular batteries and accordingly AA batteries in the kit. The belly of the batteries couldn't be impressed either. I would not have left this negative review if Midland had responded to my numerous messages and corrected the description of the product, but it has been more than a week and nothing has changed.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Older model

Don't buy fake ads and horrible radio stations.

Don't buy wasting money. First they sent the wrong color. Small but still annoying. We bought them to chat between cars during long fishing trips. If you rode more than 1/4 mile in open terrain, absolutely no obstacles, you couldn't hear the other person. The battery then said it was charged up to 4 hours of use, they suddenly flash when the battery is low and die almost without warning. Worst radio I've ever had. Don't buy them, you will be disappointed.

  • Almost everything is fine

Not the best radio!: Portable AV

These radios have terrible battery life. You can only use them for a few hours. The package description said we could use normal batteries in it, so we had batteries in our packages and when the batteries died we were surprised to learn that we could only use the batteries that were included. We even double and triple checked to make sure that's what he said. The reception in the gorge wasn't very good either. We shouldn't have booked them so far in advance of the hunt. It was too late to…

The signal does not go through the trailer.

So they worked great in the parking lot every time we checked the radio. And it stopped working as soon as we got onto the freeway. And spent the better part of 3000 miles trying to figure it out. Finally called Midland and they were lovely and went out of their way to get things sorted. And it seems the trailer between the truck in front and 100 feet was enough to render her unusable. So it practically won't work if you can't physically see the other person. So basically, if I collapsed…

Love these radios on CB and 2 way

In my opinion it was a great purchase. I have read many bad reviews about these radios but after using them I am very happy with them. They have a great range better than I expected. I mean you won't be 40 miles away from them like they say in dense forests or crowded urban areas. But if you know about radio waves, vegetation absorbs radio waves, and the more obstacles, the shorter the range. Weather and atmospheric conditions also have a lot to do with it. The GMRS FRS frequencies are just…
