Doesn't stay aligned. There is no way to align.

I'm having trouble with this tool. The blade does not stay in the middle. There doesn't seem to be a need to align the blade to stay in the cutting groove. I was hoping for good quality but didn't get it.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Security

I've been using it for seven years and love it.

Bought this product in 2012, now in 2019 it has become boring. I have used it on all types of softwood and it has worked great. I don't know why some people complain about the blade not being sharp. it should not be.

Pros
  • Super for me
Cons
  • Little things

New doesn't mean better.

Many years ago I bought the first version of this tool, couldn't find it when I ordered it, then found it. The original blade is about 1 1/4" long, this version is about 2" +/-. The original size is actually better for precise cutting, the longer the blade the more the blade flexes for at least the 1/8" hex polystyrene shank I molded the tips on. The short bladed version is better, IMHO the bot is good. for adding to your hobby toolkits.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Nothing here

Only compacts thin pieces of wood; Cuts dollhouse moldings at an angle

I bought this to cut wood moldings and clapboard to make a dolls house. The blade doesn't go all the way through, so won't cut a thin race, just compress it. I had to use the very strong scissors I had on hand to cut the tiles. When I tried to use it to cut a piece of shape it didn't cut the piece of wood straight down but split a thinner piece of wood. useless for any purpose. I hope the cutter I bought from MicroMark works better.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not bad
