Parrots Love Soft Balsa

What you get in these packages is definitely an advantage. I am only buying this for my parrot who loves soft cork wood. Unfortunately, some of the pieces of wood I received were sheets of veneer, which I find difficult to use in a parrot cage. In addition, some of them are as hard as linden, so these pieces are sent to the fireplace for kindling. The ideal packaging for me would be soft sticks in different sizes.

Thought it would be better

Very disappointed with the product. I was expecting a "Grab Bag" with different sized pieces. That's exactly what I got, but I wasn't expecting the amount of little useless dowels that came with it. There are only about 3-5 usable parts for each wood carving. The rest is just rubbish. I ordered 2 thinking I would get more random shapes but they are 2 packs of the same parts. Would go again but probably not even worth it. Not recommended for woodcarvers.

Pros
  • Economy bag holds 72 cubic inches of cork wood in various sizes
Cons
  • Out of style

There was only one "blocky" piece in the bag, big enough for what I needed. However, I may be able to glue some of the smaller pieces together to still do what I need. Based on some of…

Don't buy wood from Midwest Products

Bought for a Class 4 bridge project along with two other balsa packs, one from Midwest and one from Revell. This "savings bag" did not match the picture when it came out. The packaging says "Random sizes or shapes". I received 3/4 of the wood in blocks 1.25" thick or thicker. And each piece was the same length, about 5 inches. Nothing compares to an image showing long streaks of 10 to 12 inches. The second pack from the Midwest was a more expensive 1/4 inch strip. There were knots and gray…
