Incorrect tire pressure is worse than nothing

This is a simple tool, but it has one important function: it measures pressure accurately. Unfortunately, the pressure on this device has dropped by 5-7psi, which is a lot. I don't need it to be accurate to 0.1psi or so, but that error is too large. An inaccurate sensor is worse than nothing because it gives a false sense of security.

Rely on the old school when technology sucks

All that technical nonsense on the car and when the tire goes soft they tell you to use a pencil gauge in the tires. Actually, you should check your tires every time you fill up or every second fill-up, but we rely on technology because we've all gotten too fat and lazy. However, technology reminds us that "this number may not be accurate. Use a pressure gauge." What you should do first. it's a tire shop. It works. Check the damn tires.

Pros
  • Outstanding overall performance
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Inaccurate for passenger cars

This gauge may (or may not) work well for higher pressure tires, but it consistently reads 4psi on my passenger tires at 36psi. In addition, the pressure gauge measures in two psi increments, giving less accurate readings. You can get a better, more accurate pencil gauge at Home Depot for about $5 less. I bought a Husky brand pressure gauge for a little over $3 and compared to other gauges I own it is well worth the money. I kicked Milton out.

  • Easy to use

One of the most accurate I've ever used.

Pencil tire gauges (TPGs) are notorious for cheap junk - I just threw away one that cost $2.99; in the 70s/80s you could rely on it, today you have to be careful and look around. This Milton TPG pin fits perfectly, I mean right where it needs to be on all four tires. Usually gone and you calibrate minus or plus to cheap junk. Once the pressure gauge is on, no air escapes - what a new idea, right. It is well made as described, it has some weight (brass plated) as opposed to cheap stuff that…

Well made, good value

Pencil gauges don't bother me, but these fit nicely in the mini tool kit I carry with me on my bike rides. Supposedly made in the USA, so that's cool. Feels strong/powerful, inspires confidence. So true? As if I knew. It pretty much matches my watch face, but do I know it's accurate? I would be suspicious of reviewers complaining of inaccuracies if they don't mention details. For example, if I really wanted to vouch for (or complain about) the accuracy of this sensor, I could mention something…

Precise (tested), compact and so cheap! Excellent purchase!

I bought this pressure gauge to leave in the car so I can never doubt that my tires are unusually flat. This is particularly useful during the extreme temperature fluctuations at the beginning of winter. It's a handy tool and extremely compact, making it easy to fit in the center console, glove box or even side door storage compartments. The gauge is also very accurate, having tested it with a built in gauge at a gas station and my dad's trusty old dual head chuck. Ideal compact and accurate…

good pen. And exactly!

Well as luck would have it I got a flat tire right after I put it in the car. I bought this because my other sensors were out of service and I trust Milton to deliver a quality product. This belief was well founded. While fixing my tire, I asked the technician to check mine on his calibrated device. He was happy to comply and still had to review one of his own. Well, little Milton matched the store size. It wasn't digital. They're not designed for high accuracy, but this one is accurate and…
