I hooked this up to my little drill and am now drilling the rear sugar water holes on top of the hives. I've tried other solutions and also tried this with a variable speed drill bit and different size bits. That and the drill saved my wrists and forearms that were tight and tired from tool abuse. This piece bites right into my pine tree top and makes life better! If you need a cutout this size, get this awesome tool!

A very aggressive bite can be a problem.

This drill has a very aggressive hook and your drill can choke and stall if it doesn't have enough power. If your drill REALLY has enough power, then when the drill jams, the drill can suddenly snap your hands. So use a variable speed drill and start slowly. The instructions state that you need to install the self-feed drill in a specific way. What they don't tell you is that you can set it up with a smaller protrusion for a less aggressive bite. This can be useful depending on the type of wood

Best 3 " Drill Bit Ever Used

The best large hole wood drill I have ever had. Chewed heavy processed wood like butter. Recommended for use only with 1/2" or 5/8" HD low speed, high torque drill motors with an auxiliary handle to better control the feed rate of this aggressive drill bit. This drill will quickly overheat and overload all but the heaviest cordless drills. To sum up, when you need to quickly drill precise 3" round holes with a completely clean finish, this Milwaukee drill bit will exceed your expectations…
