Bought this timer for my 5 year old son to regulate his PC and tablet use: We used to use Android timers but he hated his In my opinion, the time passed too quickly. With this timer he can visually see the remaining time, cheating is not guaranteed. The timer is very accurate, with reasonable volume and signal duration.

This provided a great visual representation of time remaining for breaks, extra bath time/play time/drawing time, etc. It's almost impossible for young children to understand what "5 minutes more" means, and that is sure demonstrates this concept. My kids aren't that age but I think it can be helpful for learning fractions and telling the time.

My family members have time management problems, I bought this visual timer to help us all. I was happy to see that it came in blue (as well as green and red) because that's my kids' favorite color. Anything you can do to get her attention will help. My eldest is 9 and the alarm clock isn't loud enough to startle us like our kitchen clock we used. I can't say anything about endurance as we only started this week.

I used to give this one five stars. I bought this for my wife who bakes sourdough bread almost every day and needs to stretch and fold the dough twice every 15 minutes and then twice every 30 minutes. She can't hear the oven timer so I bought this for her. It's loud enough and high enough that she can hear it. Everything worked fine for two months, and today the alarm clock stopped working. This is a great timer that gives you a quick visual indication of the time remaining. It's very easy to use and makes a loud beep that can't be overheard. I bought this for my 7 year old so he can see how much time he has left for chores. I also chose it for the kitchen. The only downside is that you can't "reset" it to zero without the timer running out (you can always add more time, but if you want to "turn off" the timer before it runs out, flip that dial to zero and it beeps.)

UPDATE: After reading other reviews I put 3 layers of tape on the speakers and turned the volume down. Thats much better! We will keep it! Part 1: So far this timer has worked great for our home school class. It's simple and easy to use and I think it's having a good time. The only downside is that it makes a very annoying beeping sound when the timer is running, which makes me think it's a smoke detector or device alarm. It's more of a stress noise than a "thing, you've done your job" noise.
