Not impressed. - Adhesives and sealants

Honestly, I don't understand the usefulness of "non-hardening" putty for wood. It might be okay for a hobbyist to fill a random nail hole quickly and easily**, but the value of going soft indefinitely eludes me. I suspect the oil or whatever is in it will ruin future paint jobs. ** Assuming it doesn't dry out in the jar anyway. A contradiction, I know, but that's how manufacturer information sometimes works. .

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Doubt

Does not set/harden. Not good.

Bought three (Gold Oak) Minwax Wood Putty for a big job. Done, waited. And waited. Soft and non-sandable. The work was placed in a heating furnace for several hours. STILL SOFT. Of course too soft to grind. I scraped and scrubbed as much as I could and applied the Plastic Wood brand, again golden oak. Complete success with Plastic Wood. That was a few days ago. I'm sure I would still be waiting for the Minwax product to set.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

I thought I would find you here.

so you build something? Do you need something to fill the gap in the project? Well, what kind of building? Bridge? It won't work for a bridge. However, if you're a handsome carpenter like me who loves building things and sometimes just needs to mend a crack or fill a gap well, mate, you've come to the right place. This material works well and you can color it. Yes, you can color it to match your masterpiece.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • hard to say

Not what I needed/expected

Either I overlooked the fact that this material does not harden in the description, or it wasn't in the product description. I needed a product that hardens and can be painted or stained. According to the instructions, it remains putty after application. (What can you expect from a product like this.) So now I either have to return it (and pay for shipping) or leave it at my house until I get tired of looking at it, or find someone to give you like can use this.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Packaging is ugly

It won't sand or stain

Just make sure you know what you're getting. It cannot be sanded and cannot be placed under stain for finishing. Its sole purpose is to fill a hole or scratch AFTER you've applied the wood finish. It does not harden and remains soft. It's just there to blend in and hide a hole or scratch. I think if you had a table standing in a corner that is rarely touched and no one is looking closely, everything would be fine. If you touch it with anything it will come off because it doesn't harden. Just…

Works well and gets the job done

I got this because I had wood floors and was fixing the floors so I screwed the wood into the floor but I need something to hold the screws in place otherwise see you wood and then you just see a few metal spots at the top of each screw that has been screwed in so i took this wooden spatula to put it on top so i just smell a little on top it looks amazing you don't even realize that you screwed something into it so it doesn't go fast but if you don't step on it for a while it falls down pretty…

Pros
  • Great overall
Cons
  • Has flaws

Give it a try, but read my review first!

I like this product because it blends in and is invisible. I didn't know it didn't dry, which I don't like. Applying by hand is also difficult. Once your finger is on it, trying to put putty in the crack will continue to stick to your finger and make it difficult for you to stay still. I'm not a "handy" person so I'm sure there is an easier way to apply this. Easy enough to rinse fingers after use. It is also wasteful for the product as I use it. I am giving this 4 stars probably due to my own…

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • boring packaging

This is just a very soft clay for modeling. Not sure how you're going to use this, but certainly not on surfaces touched by people, things, clothing, or dust. It has no structural integrity and a week later it was still greasy when I touched it, had streaks when I wiped it, and collected dust when I cleaned it. The best I can say is this could be perfect for a mover: did we scratch the customer's furniture? Here, smear some of this and they might not notice until they sign up and pay the bill…

Pros
  • Very impressive
