Big clear ping! in cycling

This bell is beautifully designed. It's not the "XL" I was expecting, but it does the job. Ideal for slow cruising in sidewalk traffic on campus or in the park. You never know when someone will approach you (especially kids). The size XL should refer to the circumference of the handlebar. The first bell did not fit my cruiser and I had to order this one which fits very well. A swing hammer is handy for finding the best possible thumb position. It also offers the versatility of mounting next to…

Does what it's meant to do

I bought this for my grandson (9) and he wanted it because dad (that's me) has one on his bike. I use it when cycling/hiking. Often people don't hear you approach them from behind or wear headphones. The "thing" is loud enough for someone to know you're there, but not loud enough to startle them. Sometimes when we're on the trails he steps aside and we part. I know he's not far because he rings his bell for me to hear and I call mine back and I know he's just looking at an interesting side…

The Incredible Incredibell

The name says it all; Great little bell that fits anywhere on the handlebars and the hammer adjusts 360 degrees around the bell to suit your preference. Extremely reliable, it has only one moving part of any value (spring-loaded hammer). A flick of your thumb and you'll hear a fairly loud and clear bell. Love the fact that it sits unobtrusively on my black steering wheel until needed. For less than $15 including shipping and applicable sales tax, you can't go wrong with this bell. I ordered…

Ideal for pedestrians and bike lanes only.

This is a really good bell with a sharp, clear and pleasant sound. I actually installed two sound devices on my electric bike. The "very loud" AirZound horn (for those sitting in an isolated car interior with the windows open, listening to their iPods, talking on cell phones, having a cup of coffee and putting on makeup, noisy kids banging in the back seat) and this Mirrycle Incredibell bike bell XL (for pedestrians and bike lanes). This call is recognized by other cyclists or pedestrians who…

Not all bells can do everything.

So I'm not sure if a bell actually gets five stars. Unless he came with a cute bike ghost that could cook and vaporize rude riders. What this bell is: a single "chime," a change in volume depending on how hard you press the thumb lever. For pedestrians walking the sidewalk in a seemingly chaotic manner, it is enough to quickly press several times in relatively quick succession, with increasing volume. It has a pleasant tone and a very weak echo. A sudden movement and some people will notice…
